Blocking our driveway

Tuesday, March 13, 2018, 10 am. We came home and found a truck and trailer from Pacific Hot Tub Solutions blocking our driveway. They were working on my neighbors hot tub, Milwaukie, Oregon. I went to ask them to move the vehicles and one of the workers started giving me a bad time. On his way out to move the vehicles, I insisted, and he also gave my 81 year old husband an obnoxious response. We called the company and complained about his behavior.

DANGER SHODDY HOT TUB REPAIR BY PACIFIC HOT TUB SOLUTIONS

- Select Language - Text Sizesmall medium large Complaints Customer Reviews Request a Quote Consumer Complaints BBB Accredited Business since 4/16/2014 Pacific Hot Tub Solutions LLC (503) 913-**** Share Print Complaint: On December 5th, 2013, Pacific Hot Tub Solutions (PHTS)replaced the control/heater unit in my spa after diagnosing the existing control/heater unit as unrepairable. On March 23rd, 2014, while investigating a water leak under my spa, I discovered that the PHTS technician had left the high voltage wires to the new control/heater unit EXPOSED. These wires should have been protected with weatherproof conduit and a weatherproof connector at the new control/heater unit. Water from the leak had sprayed on the "live" 240 volt/40 amp wiring and had sprayed inside the new control/heater unit. Water actually came in contact with both high and low voltage wiring! The PHTS technician also failed to bond ("ground")the two spa pumps to the control/heater unit. He also removed the wire to the ozone generator and rendered it useless. Luckily, no one was injured or killed before I discovered the problems. I immediately contacted PHTS and received an offer of $100.00 to go away. The next day the owner of the company profusely apologized for her employee's actions but offered no real settlement. However, after I filed a complaint with the Clackamas County Electrical Department the owner of the company refused to attempt any type of resolution unless I withdrew my complaints to the County, State and AngiesList. In October, 2014, the topside control unit that controls the heater, pumps and lights detached from it mounting bracket and fell back inside the spa enclosure. This rendered the spa basically useless. Spa the new control/heater unit was still under the one year warrantee, I contacted PHTS in writing. As of this date, PHTS has refused/failed to contact me regarding the warrantee repair. Regarding the initial installation, the State of Oregon has proposed fines to PHTS in the amount of $9,000.00 for license violations, permit violation and unsafe wiring practices. The State of Oregon has proposed a fine in the amount of $2,500.00 to the unlicensed PHTS technician. To date, PHTS is not licensed, bonded or insured with the State of Oregon. Desired Settlement: I have invested almost a year of my time and efforts to bring this company into compliance with Oregon laws and Administrative Rules. I have engaged in numerous meetings and phone conversations with County and State officials. I have incurred personal expenses to process my complaints and repair my spa. I have lost use of my spa for almost four months. I am seeking a settlement in the amount of $10,000.00 from PHTS. Business Response: The complaints Mr. ******** filed with the State of Oregon have been resolved. We do not and will not do any electrical work that requires a license or permit to complete. We always advise the homeowner they will need to either do electrical work themselves or have an electrical contractor complete it. Mr. ********s complaints are a he said/he said case between my tech and Mr. ********. I have 100's of satisfied customers as well as electrical contractors who would tell you we always refer the electrical work Mr. ******** said we did to contractors. What Mr. ******** also fails to mention is that after our alleged improper installation, he completed the necessary steps and had the installation inspection. Now nearly a year later he wants us to provide a warranty repair to something that he, by his own admission, did work to and possibly altered or damaged the equipment. Additionally, no where on his paperwork does it say we will provide a warranty for a year. I believe he is getting this information from our website, which is something we only started offering in July of 2014. Mr. ******* also has failed to explain that he has taken his complaints to a personal level. I am not going to go into this matter in this forum but I believe, for whatever reason, this has become a personal vendetta against me personally, not just about him being a dissatisfied customer. I will not repair Mr. ********s hot tub. Myself and my staff go out of our way to ensure all customers are happy and satisfied; however, when a customer feels the need to attempt to ruin the reputation of my company and of me personally in a threatening or harassing manner they will receive no further service from my company. As for Mr. ********s request for $10,000, if he feels the need to pursue this, my attorney will be happy to discuss this matter in conjunction with our counter suit for harassment, slander, liable and defamation of character. I have no problem, whatsoever, working with customers to resolve issues/concerns they may have but when a customer feels they can threaten, harass or bully me or my company that is where I draw the line on customer service. "Do to others as you would have them do to you" is an appropriate verse for Mr. ******** to learn from. He needs to remember, he now has to earn the respect that he thinks he deserves because for so many years he got it only because of the badge he wore. This whole issue would be a mute point had he not made unreasonable DEMANDS from the beginning. Mr. ******** set the tone for the level of service he has received and there are things he has done that, again, will not be discussed in this forum, but where completely inappropriate and harassment of me personally. Consumer Response: ***Document Attached***I received this information from the State of Oregon this week. Obviously, the State of Oregon took my concerns seriously! (Final (Consent) Order.pdf) Consumer Response: (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I have attached my response below. I have also uploaded several photographs. Please pay particular attention to the small wires that lead from the heater/control unit, thru a round hole in the plastic shroud behind the heater/control until and up to the topside control panel. The actual control panel is inaccessible once the top mounting bracket is affixed to the top of the spa. I can send more photos if necessary. To: Better Business Bureau/ Cathy ********From: *** ********Re: Case #********Date: February 21st, 2015 BBB/Ms. ********: In response to your e-mail of February 17th, 2015, requesting additional information regarding my complaint, I have drafted the following: Please review the Consent Order (Case #C2014-****) that I submitted to you on February 15th, 2015. This Consent Order refers to the investigation and actions of the Electrical and Elevator Board (EEB) of the State of Oregon in regards to my complaints to them regarding Pacific Hot Tub Solutions (PHTS). The owner of PHTS, Ms. KIM PRIEST***, waived a formal hearing and, instead, entered into this agreement with the EEB. She voluntarily signed the Consent Order on January 23rd, 2015, and accepted the findings and fines of the EEB. Her attorney, Mr. Tyler Smith, also voluntarily signed the Consent Order on February 5th, 2015. In regard to the Consent Order, the Electrical and Elevator Boards' "Findings of Fact", statements of "Applicable Laws", "Conclusions of Law" and its final "Order" ARE NOT in dispute. PHTS and its lawyer voluntarily signed the Order as written and accepted fines in the amount of $9,000.00 of which $4,500.00 would be suspended if PHTS met certain conditions. In her response to you, Ms. ****** states, "We do not and will not do any electrical work that requires a license or permit to complete". Her company, of which she states she is the owner, just received a $9,000.00 fine from the State of Oregon after she signed the Consent Order admitting that PHTS had committed numerous electrical code violations! Ms. ****** then alleges that my complaints involve some kind of misunderstanding between her "tech" and me. Again, in the Consent Order, she agreed with the findings of the EEB stating that her company did not possess a "contractor's license", had employed an unlicensed person to conduct electrical installations and did not obtain an electrical permit for my spa repair/ installation. Ms. PRIEST continues by referring to an "alleged improper installation". Again, Ms. ****** signed the Consent Order that stated that her unlicensed "tech" violated ORS 479.710(1), and National Electric Code articles 300.11(A). 300.12, 300.15, 300.15(C) 300.18(A), 310.10(G) while repairing my spa. After I had made my initial complaint to the Building Codes Division of Clackamas County, I also made complaint to AngiesList. Ms. ****** had reminded me several times that her company had received a 2013 award from AngiesList and I believed that this organization needed to hear of my experience with one of their "award winners". In written correspondence to me on May 15th, 2014, Ms. ****** conditioned any type of settlement stating, "If you will agree to stop the continued complaints, retract complaints precious made and agree to put this issue behind us..." I had/have no intention of conditioning any type of settlement by being required to retract any complaints that I have made to the County, State, AngiesList, the BBB or any other consumer protection entity. After the initial installation, I personally obtained an electrical permit (E0203414) and properly wired the heater/control unit. I then had the installation inspected by the Building Codes Division of Clackamas County on September 2nd, 2014. In October, 2014, the topside control panel literally fell out of its mounting bracket to a location recessed inside the spa. I notified PHTS in writing of this obvious installation or product defect on November 5th, 2014, and provided them with photographs of the control unit. To date, I heard nothing from PHTS regarding this warrantee request. Ms. ******'s response to this BBB complaint, dated February 13th, 2015, was the first time I heard why Pacific Hot Tub Solutions had ignored my warrantee request. At no time did I repair, alter or damage the topside control unit that fell of its mounting bracket, as Ms. ****** alleges. I only properly rewired the high voltage supply wiring as stated above. The topside control is not even accessible after it has been attached to the mounting plate that then gets permanently attached to the top of the spa with adhesive! Regarding Ms. ******'s "lack of warrantee" claims, I received the one year warrantee promise from both the General Manager of PHTS at the time of my order AND from the "tech" when he finished installing and testing the new heater/control unit. I did not receive any written warrantee information from PHTS. The promised one year warrantee was one of the reasons why I chose PHTS to repair my spa. This warrantee promise was displayed on the PHTS website and numerous CraigsList ads long before July, 2014. I have contacted the Balboa Water Group, the company the manufactured the heater/control unit installed by PHTS, and confirmed that my heater/control unit had been covered by a one year factory warrantee from the date of installation. Ms. ****** states, "I will not repair Mr. ********s hot tub". That is obvious. Ms. ****** states that I have made "unreasonable demands from the beginning". I asked for compensation in the amount of $1,400.00 in the early stages of negotiation and, as noted above, received a condition from Ms. ****** that I would have to retract any complaints that I had made before she would enter into a settlement. That condition is unacceptable. I have never met Ms. PRIEST in person and do not even know what she looks like. Her claims that I have a personal vendetta against her are absurd. Consumer Response: ***Document Attached***Apparently my download of the additional Consent Order did not make it to you. This the Order fining the technician from Pacific Hot Tub Solutions $5,000.00 for the violations stated in the Order. (2015****_C2014-**** Final (Consent) Order Terry Aune.pdf) I am rejecting this response because: Please review my original complaint, the rebuttal I submitted to you on February 21st, 2015, Consent Orders C2014-**** and C2014-**** which I have provided to you and the photographs that I have emailed to you. These documents clearly show and provide the basis for my complaint to the BBB. Regarding the latest message from Pacific Hot Tub Solutions, I will address each sentence in order. Sentence #1: I have no idea what the business is trying to say. The sentence makes no sense to me. Am I to assume that filing a complaint with the State and with two consumer protection businesses is deemed "harassment"? Does this "harassment" somehow then preclude my right or ability to file a complaint? The sentence makes no sense. Sentence #2: Pacific Hot Tub Solutions and their technician were fined a total of $14,000.00 as documented in the two Consent Orders. The "Findings of Fact", "Applicable Law", "Conclusions of Law" the final "Order" in both Consent Orders ARE NOT in dispute. The Consent Orders document violations of Oregon State Law, Oregon Administrative Rules and violations of the National Electrical Code. Pacific Hot Tub Solutions and their technician signed their respective Orders admitting guilt, knowing that they could have a formal hearing regarding the charges. Both Respondents signed as indicated after reading and fully understanding the terms of their respective Order. Both "freely and voluntarily" consented to the entry of their respective Orders WITHOUT FURTHER HEARING. They also expressly waived all rights to a hearing or appeal. In other words, THEY PLEAD GUILTY to the charges brought by the State. They entered into the Consent Orders under advice and counsel of an attorney. Nowhere, in either Order, is it stated that signing the Orders does not constitute an admission of guilt. In fact, just the opposite is true. In the Order regarding PHTS, Section 3, "Respondent agrees NOT TO COMMIT FURTHER VIOLATIONS (emphasis added) of the Building Codes Division's statutes or rules. In order to discuss further violations, it is obvious that there must have been some "present violations"! Sincerely, *** ******** 11/4/2013 Advertising/Sales Issues | Read Complaint Details X Additional Notes Complaint: I believe Pacific Hot Tub Solutions of Oregon City, OR engaged in a bait-and-switch or low-ball scheme to get my business and then charge more than agreed for a service. I inquired over the phone as to the cost of removing and disposing of my old spa and after answering multiple interview questions was told it would be $250, but if there were unforeseen circumstances then it could be more, but not to exceed $350 for a worst-case scenario (for example, if the spa was in such bad condition that it had to be cut apart in order to remove it). I agreed to these terms and we set a date to remove the spa. On the day of the spa removal, the workers arrived and promptly informed me that they might have to spend 1.5 hours cutting the spa apart and that would cost an extra $200 if they had to do that. After spending 15 minutes pumping water out of the spa, they then took about 5 minutes to move the spa from the back yard and onto their flatbed trailer, without having to cut it apart. Two workers and a single ramp to get up one step was all that was required during the spa move. I was then presented with a bill for $350. When I asked why it was more, I was told all of the following: "Sorry, all I know is that my paperwork shows $300-$350." "This is an old spa so we had to charge more." "This spa is about to go 65 miles per hour down the freeway, so we have to charge more since it might break apart." "We only had to use one ramp, so I didn't charge you more for setting up ramps." "Just be glad we didn't have to cut it apart and charge you more." Sure enough, the invoice said $300-$350, so we were quoted $250 minimum over the phone and the invoice was immediately increased to $300 minimum. Then an additional $50 was charged for what appeared to be a normal, easy, fast spa removal with no unusual or difficult obstacles or situations. Part of the justification for the higher cost appeared to be "We saved you money (we didn't have to cut it up), so we're charging you more." Additionally, the price to cut up the spa, had that been required, was increased from the original $100 quote to $200. With regard to the spa being "old" and "ready to fall apart", I wonder how many new, good-condition spas these people remove for disposal per year? Isn't it common to find that if the owner wants to simply pay to dispose of their spa, then that spa is in bad condition? The spa condition was made clear during the original bid for $250. In addition, most parts of the spa are in salvageable condition, such as the shell, the pump, and the electric heater. Since this company is in the business of selling used spas, I'm sure these parts will be put to good use and will make additional money for the company. Desired Settlement: While getting back the $75 I paid over the original $250 quote for an easy, straight-forward move, I agreed to pay $325 and I am ok with that. I just want to get this misleading business practice on the record. Business Response: Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2013/09/27) */ Contact Name and Title: *** ****** Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX Contact Email: *****@pacifichottubsolutions.com Pacific Hot Tub Solutions did not engage in a bait and switch and I believe *** ****** is attempting to discredit my company while filing an inaccurate claim. First I would like to explain that *** ****** was never quoted anything. A woman names **** contacted our business and discussed the removal with staff. I have no record of ***** being involved in the discussion of the price or agreeing to have the work done. Our contact was ***** A call to the number on our work order confirms the number listed is for **** not *****. Secondly I would like to offer that we NEVER quote a firm price because too many times how a job is explained over the phone is not reality. We ALWAYS quote a sliding scale. Lora was quoted between $300 - $350. I am attaching our worksheet from the initial call. If my staff discussed with ***** onsite that they may have to cut it up and charge additional then I have to believe the removal was not a basic removal. As I previously indicated people do not always represent their removals very clearly over the phone. Our standard cut up fee is $525. My guys are professionals and want to do the job as simply and inexpensively as possible for the customer but will always point out the possibility of a higher cost if they see the potential that it may be a difficult removal/move. Since my guys do this all day long, every day they were able to safely remove the hot tub without having to cut it up. It was a 15 year old hot tub with wood siding, extremely heavy and cumbersome. They may have made it look easy but the reason we were hired to do it is because lifting a 1200+lb unit onto a cart and moving it without hurting people or property is not something just anyone can do. *** ****** tries to minimize the difficulty of the move by saying we only used 1 ramp to go up 1 step. ANYTIME we have to use a ramp or go up stairs we charge more than the minimum. When *** ****** discussed the pricing with us, my staff reduced the price to $325 from $350. As for *** ******* comment regarding us fixing up and selling used spas, he is incorrect. We do fix up used hot tubs; however, we do not use used parts so *** ******* garbage is just that... garbage, with a dump cost of nearly $80 due to the weight of the tub. So to break it down. **** was quoted between $300 - $350 and agreed to have us remove the tub. ***** thinks the the job we did was not worth what he paid but it has nothing to do with bait and switch. I have attached the documentation to show our work order and what was quoted. We always write it down because the people quoting are not the people doing the work. I hope that you will see this is just a consumers attempt to discredit my company with information that has no merit and which I have provided documentation to the contrary. He admits in his complaint my guys showed him the quote between $300 - $350 so there is no question as to the validity of the work order. The money has been paid, the job is completed and *** ******, despite filing his complaint with you felt the need to post the same information on *********** This is not bait and switch. *** ****** was not even involved in the initial contact with my company so how he can portray that he was misled. I do not believe we have done anything wrong in this matter. *** ****** has never contacted me directly to discuss this matter. Please dismiss this compliant due to lack of creditable information since *** ****** was never quoted anything directly. Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 12, 2013/10/26) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) No, I do not consider this resolved. To recap: A $250 minimum quote was given over the phone to get my business. That was immediately raised to $300 minimum when written on the invoice. Upon arrival to the job, the workers immediately raised the possibility of an extra $200 required to complete the job in an attempt to "soften me up" and recalibrate me to a higher price. Then after a straightforward, short spa move with no obstacles or difficulties, the price was raised by "only" $100, to $350. Still no valid reason to justify the price increase has been given, just excuses that do not hold up under scrutiny. Seems like an intentional low-ball scheme to me. Final Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2013/10/13) */ It is clear that this customer was satisfied with the serves provided as he says he does not dispute we are professionals and are good at what we do. At this point, he has indicated he is not dis satisfied with the service and I provided documentation to show the range quoted and we did adjust the price at the time of the job to satisfy the customer. - UPDATED CONSUMER INFORMATION - " DAN TRUSSELL REVIEWS " STATE OF OREGON.

Online reviews for Dan Trussell and other businesses have been falsely posted by Pacific Hot Tub Solutions trying to game the system to make a buck. The reviews have been posted on Google, Facebook and other review sites. In Oregon the government is cracking down on Pacific Hot Tub Solutions and its owners Kim Stogsdill and Scott Stogsdill to make sure citizens aren't shelling out their hard-earned money under false pretenses, reports The State of Oregon consumer fraud division. The owners of Pacific Hot Tub Solutions have been convicted of Fraud, Grand Theft, *** Heroin, and consumer fraud among other crimes over the last decade.

Following a recent investigation of Pacific Hot Tub Solutions and its owners Kim Priest and Scott Stogsdill it was revealed to have published hundreds of fake online reviews, about Dan Trussell, Oregon Hot Tub, and PDQ Spa repair. The State of Oregon Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is on a mission to stop fabricated reviews from being posted and to remove the ones that already exist.

According to the State of Oregon, more than 200 consumer reviews have been posted by this company using over 115 alias or simply posted as anonymous. The regulators have the power to go after consumer protection law violators with civil or even criminal proceedings. Pacific Hot tub Solutions has 4 judgment against the company resulting in over $250,000 in compensation to affected business and individuals.

Oregon regulators are trying to crack down on fake reviews posted by the owners of Pacific Hot Tub Solutions. Company owners Kim and Scott Stogsdill have been taken to court and ultimately fined more than $80,000 for posting 68 fabricated review about long time hot tub store owner Dan Trussell.

The State of Oregon is asking for your help in this case. If you see reviews of the negative nature about Dan Trussell, Oregon Hot Tub, or PDQ Spa repair, Please report the reviews to The State of Oregon Consumer Fraud line.

The owner of Pacific Hot Tub Solutions Scott Stogsdill is also "The Stop and Go bandit". He was arrested at the coast a few years ago.

I am surprised they let him out of jail so soon.

The guy never learned from his time in jail. Some people you can never reform.

If you claim to have a problem she will point the finger at everyone else but herself. I am an electrician who has wired a 100 hot tubs and know exactly how to wire them regardless of the manufacturer. I know how to read schematic. Anyway, friends purchased a tub from these guys in Lincoln City and asked me to wire it and I did.

The tech came out while I was there and said I wired it wrong because the GFI was tripping. I explained that I did not wire it wrong, showed him the wiring diagram and he said he didn't have time to argue with me and said call when we have it wired correctly. The spa was a Sundance spa, so being fair and wanting to be sure I didn't make a mistake, I called Sundance Spa and talked with them over the phone and even emailed them pictures of how I wired it. They said it was wired correctly.

Called PHTS back and they basically told my friends to pound sand and how they had a lot of problems with how electricians wire their spas. So after a lot of back and forth they said they would come get the spa, take it back to there shop and test it (who does that?) and if there wasn't a problem with the spa there would be a transport fee. The folks at Sundance even said that was a bad idea because they aren't designed to be moved all over, it can damage the seals, crack hoses etc. So they get the tub back to their shop and guess what, it had a bad part that was causing a short.

Then Kim was as nice as pie and acted like none of the previous experience ever happened. What do you know, brought it back, hooked it up to the wiring I had installed and it worked for about 6 months, then had another problem with the filter and shutting off with a low flow light on. My friends bought a new tub and threw that one away, rather than try to deal with Kim on a warranty ($3500.00 out the window). None of this story is fabricated, it happened exactly like this and it took 3 weeks to resolve.

So the people that are writing good reviews obviously didn't have a problem but if you do, be for warned, Kim is never wrong until you prove her wrong. Not exactly the "customer is always right" kind of company.

Before you buy from them, go to another hot tub place and mention these guys and they will tell you the same thing. This company has a bad reputation in the spa business.

The real story is this punk writing this fabricated sucker fish story IS he Mr. electrician never pulled a wiring permit and/or a final inspection.

When my guys were there they said for a "sundance or jacuzzi" hook ups are the GFCI in the main panel with a "quick disconnect 5' away from the spa outside! So, as a professional hot tub company with warranty waivers signed at purchases for this problem especially for "do it yourself home owners and electricians who shouldn't be doing their "friend" any favors since he's not an Oregon Electrical Contractor who's only allowed by law to install and hook up hot tubs! This sob story was written by the *** who did the wiring? This is the GM at Pacific Hot Tub Solutions any spa you wire in needs to be finally signed off from the electrical inspector!

NO WARRANTY ON THE PLANET IS HONORED UNLESS THIS HAS HAPPENED! Which was the case here..Smear ad and completely false!!

I'm an IT guy and I bought a sweet spa from PHTS. The reviews are posted every month from the same dude just a new spin?!!

If you have a brain at all you will not believe such hatred and miss out on a hot tub? Go in there and see for yourself I bought the second trip over after I saw everyone wants to finance and these days I let no one, especially salesman control and posses my personal info credit score.

I saved and I scored at PHTS under $4,000 with nothing but my name and address! By the way they came out and made sure my water chems were perfect true caring and no charge.

She walked me through cleaning and starting our hot tub after we bought our house..on the phone with me.

I will go back until proven otherwise. One bad experience from someone else does not mean I will have one.

My mom bought a hot tub from their Lincoln city store only to have it close a week later.Was strung along for 3 weeks before I could get proper sub panel.Was told it was going to be drop shipped to Platt Electric in Newport Or.Once at Platt they had no idea what I was talking about.Once the panel was received at a extra cost of 330.00 dollars A certified electrician installed said sub panel.Once there was power to the hot tub that's when we discovere heater did not work and several of the led lights were not working.They also sold my mom the tub with a three year warranty but delivered it with a one year warranty.The top was suppose to be in good shape or a new one would be supplied.Well all the straps on the top were torn off and there was a tear in the bottom of the cover.There was also over 40 screw exposed screw holes in the siding of the tub.After contacting the store in Oregon City I was told a repair man would be at my house in 2 1/2 weeks.After waiting all this time and taking off from work for the third time they called and said they could not make it.After waiting two more days for them to call I contacted them only to be told I needed to supply them with a electrical inspection permit.They said it was my fault the hot tub didn't work.I hired two different electricians to check the tub and test the heater.The heater failed for both electricians.I was willing to do all the repairs on the tub out of pocket.All I wanted was for Pacific Hot tub Solutions to honor the warranty on the heater and they couldn't even do that.Buyer Beware.....This is the most dishonest company I have ever delt with in the state of Oregon.Anyone that would hustle a little old lady should be ashamed of themselves..

Complaint: Pacific Hot Tub Solutions (PHTS)replaced the control/heater unit in my spa after diagnosing the existing control/heater unit as unrepairable. On March 23rd, , while investigating a water leak under my spa, I discovered that the PHTS technician had left the high voltage wires to the new control/heater unit EXPOSED.

These wires should have been protected with weatherproof conduit and a weatherproof connector at the new control/heater unit. Water from the leak had sprayed on the "live" 240 volt/40 amp wiring and had sprayed inside the new control/heater unit. Water actually came in contact with both high and low voltage wiring! The PHTS technician also failed to bond ("ground")the two spa pumps to the control/heater unit.

He also removed the wire to the ozone generator and rendered it useless. Luckily, no one was injured or killed before I discovered the problems. I immediately contacted PHTS and received an offer of $100.00 to go away. The next day the owner of the company profusely apologized for her employee's actions but offered no real settlement.

However, after I filed a complaint with the Clackamas County Electrical Department the owner of the company refused to attempt any type of resolution unless I withdrew my complaints to the County, State and AngiesList. In October, 2014, the topside control unit that controls the heater, pumps and lights detached from it mounting bracket and fell back inside the spa enclosure. This rendered the spa basically useless. Spa the new control/heater unit was still under the one year warrantee, I contacted PHTS in writing.

As of this date, PHTS has refused/failed to contact me regarding the warrantee repair. Regarding the initial installation, the State of Oregon has proposed fines to PHTS in the amount of $9,000.00 for license violations, permit violation and unsafe wiring practices. The State of Oregon has proposed a fine in the amount of $2,500.00 to the unlicensed PHTS technician. To date, PHTS is not licensed, bonded or insured with the State of Oregon.

Desired Settlement: I have invested almost a year of my time and efforts to bring this company into compliance with Oregon laws and Administrative Rules.

I have engaged in numerous meetings and phone conversations with County and State officials. I have incurred personal expenses to process my complaints and repair my spa.

I have lost use of my spa for almost four months. I am seeking a settlement in the amount of $10,000.00 from PHTS.

Hi, I am one of the certified hot tub technicians that work at Pacific Hot Tub Solutions. I am also the person who spoke with this customer at length regarding his hot tub's issue and potential wiring problems.

I am also the employee who sent the photos to our Lincoln City location from which this customer purchased his tub from, and I am the inventory manager responsible for all parts ordering. There are many lies being stated in this review. First, he states his mother purchased the tub. That is a lie.

He purchased the spa personally, and he signed all documentation. Second, the issue with Platt electric was his own. I called in the order, myself, for his breaker boxes. After being notified that he wasn't able to pick them up as promised I called Platt to figure out the problem.

The representative I spoke with remembered this gentleman and said he never identified himself properly. I corrected the issue and he was able to get his parts. We do not supply breakers with the tubs we sale but will aid a customer when asked, hence his charge for the items. Now, as to the main issue, his heater, wiring, and delay.

The delay was due to an issue, with two employees being sick making it impossible for me to stay on schedule for the day. I called this customer and explained the reason I wouldn't make it and asked him about the issue he was having as I was the one assigned to complete any needed repairs. During the conversation he explained to me that he had wired the tub in himself, not an electrician. His particular tub has complicated wiring and must be done properly in order for the tub to operate.

I was informed that he had had two seperate electricians look at it and both said it was the heater. Sometimes parts can fail unexpectedly so I proceeded to order a new heater. Since he had told me himself he had wired it in, we have to have a final inspection report before I could touch the tub. There are two reasons for this, one we have documentation stating that unpermitted or faulty wiring can negate our warranty, two I could be held liable and lose my certification if the wiring were improper and I performed any repairs.

This customer refused to have his wiring inspected by the county making any repairs impossible. We have tried numerous times to explain to the customer the importance of a hot tub's wiring and need for a permit and/or final inspection.

It can truly be a matter of life and death and we take everyone's safety very seriously.I take this matter personally since I was the most involved with this customer and my review here could have repercussions but I felt the truth should be heard. Thank you.

My wife and I used Pacific Hot Tub Solution's Consignment Service, with horrible results. The tub was rarely used, so we thought we'd free up the space in the yard.

Two guys arrived immediately and said it was an awesome tub, and that used tubs were "flying off the shelves", and they could probably sell it that weekend. My wife told them that all of a sudden it wasn't starting, and they said it probably needed a new motherboard. They totally assessed it before my wife signed anything. With the tub we included a custom cover and steps - both worth an extra $800.

My wife signed the agreement that all together we would receive $2100 for the tub with the accessories. Well, not only did it not sell that week, but we kept having to call them to see the status of our hot tub. When it finally sold more than 6 months later, we only knew because my wife was calling every 6 - 8 weeks to see what's up. There's a line on their contract that says "Seller agrees to allow PHTS to negotiate this amount ($2100) by no more than 20% without written authorization." The day Kim wrote the check to us, my wife called to say hey what's up with our tub, and Kim says they didn't need to negotiate, the tub had already been delivered to the new customer, and that we would get the full amount ($2100).

Yay! We received a check for $1800. Needless to say, they skimmed $300 off, even though Kim herself said there was no negotiating with the new customer on the price. I wouldn't recommend doing consignments with these guys.

Seem like very nice people, but since they knew the repairs necessary when they picked it up, they should have paid what the contract said. Also, they had verbally said if they need to go down on the price, they would call us to get our authorization. They never once called, nor left any message. When my wife asked how much they sold our hot tub for, Kim said that was not our concern.

Oh, and the accessories we gave - the custom cover and steps - Kim said she didn't charge the customers for those, she gave them away for free! Sounds like BS if you ask me!

Better off selling yourself and knowing what's going on. They seem like nice folks - just a bit greedy!

My name in Ken, I found PHTS online. They came out to my home gave me a price to fix my hot tub, but when I decided not to repair it they offered to sell it for me.. so a few days later they sent out 4 guys to pick it up. They did a great job getting it out of my backyard. I was given a small check at the time of pick up with an agreement for a % of the sale price. Happily I received a check(10 Months later)as promised . I was happy to just get the hot tub out of my yard...

Watch out for Scott at Pacific Hot Tub Solutions. He doesn't sound like he has ever run an office before and got extremely upset and hung up on us after we were scheduled between 12-2 for a hot tub service.

No phone call saying they would be late and nobody answered the phone. Several messages to the shop as maybe others out there have kids that need to be picked up from school like we do that would usually be a courtesy to call and say hey we are running late. Does that work for you or would you like to reschedule. Instead he cancels our service and tells his employee that we were snotty to him for saying we had to wait around for 4 hours while they didn't show up or call.

Not sure if this is how business is really run, but I would think not.

Most companies pride themselves on service. There service techs were great but Scott has lost a potential repeat customer forever.

I have been dealing with this stalker for over 2 years now! And, of course instead of competing with honor these so called, "customer" reviews are garbage! These are fabricated BS ads from Dan Trussell aka my used hot tub pro/ portland hot tub repair / the old hot tub factory / come on now posting pix from our Facebook is way stalker and suspect for obsessed behavior.

Please be smarter than he thinks you are go to our Facebook page, BBB report (4) complaints in 4 years, we'll take that. We've made a few mistakes and owned them and have become better as a company from it.

We also won the super service award from Angie's list for 2013! So, now what do you think? Do you believe a no name? no face? not a customer but, a deranged stalking fool who has seriously major issues!??

Pacific Hot Tub Solutions - - UPDATED CONSUMER INFORMATION - " DAN TRUSSELL REVIEWS " STATE OF OREGON.

ISSUE NOT RESOLVED

Online reviews for Dan Trussell and other businesses have been falsely posted by Pacific Hot Tub Solutions trying to game the system to make a buck. The reviews have been posted on Google, Facebook and other review sites. In Oregon the government is cracking down on Pacific Hot Tub Solutions and its owners Kim Stogsdill and Scott Stogsdill to make sure citizens aren't shelling out their hard-earned money under false pretenses, reports The State of Oregon consumer fraud division. The owners of Pacific Hot Tub Solutions have been convicted of Fraud, Grand Theft, *** Heroin, and consumer fraud among other crimes over the last decade.

Following a recent investigation of Pacific Hot Tub Solutions and its owners Kim Priest and Scott Stogsdill it was revealed to have published hundreds of fake online reviews, about Dan Trussell, Oregon Hot Tub, and PDQ Spa repair. The State of Oregon Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is on a mission to stop fabricated reviews from being posted and to remove the ones that already exist.

According to the State of Oregon, more than 200 consumer reviews have been posted by this company using over 115 alias or simply posted as anonymous. The regulators have the power to go after consumer protection law violators with civil or even criminal proceedings. Pacific Hot tub Solutions has 4 judgment against the company resulting in over $250,000 in compensation to affected business and individuals. Oregon regulators are trying to crack down on fake reviews posted by the owners of Pacific Hot Tub Solutions. Company owners Kim and Scott Stogsdill have been taken to court and ultimately fined more than $80,000 for posting 68 fabricated review about long time hot tub store owner Dan Trussell. The State of Oregon is asking for your help in this case. If you see reviews of the negative nature about Dan Trussell, Oregon Hot Tub, or PDQ Spa repair, Please report the reviews to The State of Oregon Consumer Fraud line.

I bought a hot tub from this man SCOTT STOGSDILL of PACIFIC HOT TUB SOLUTIONS. .At first he seemed nice and sincere when he was showing me his hot tubs he always had a know it all attitude showing me things in the most minute detail.

He really seemed on his game.

So i took the chance and bought a tub from him. two weeks after i picked it up and got it wired and full the tub was very noisy and would not heat up past 85!!!!! After leaving 7 messages for him he scheduled a time to come out and "Take care of it" not only was he 3 hours late for our appointment but also charged me for him showing up...

He didn't even have the right motor and said he would be back.... That was 4 months ago and still no word.

then had the police called on ME for calling him so much..... 12 calls in 4 months i believe is LENIENT WHEN I GAVE YOU $3000!!!!!! I for one don't like being taken.

He manipulates the law to get what he wants. YOUR MONEY FOR NOTHING!!!!

I should have done my research and figured out who this crook really is. Trust me when i say shocked....

Pacific Hot Tub Solutions Appointment Review from Hillsboro, Oregon

After giving us a time they would be here, they never showed and never called. After 2 phone calls to them and no response, my husband called and asked when they expected to show up, that we had be waiting for someone to show up. Scott, was very rude. When the worker showed up, he informed me that he was to only deliver a hot tub cover with no work. Come to find out, Scott didn't like that we were upset that we had waited for several hours with no phone call. I called Scott, he was EXTREMELY rude to me, told me that they were doing us a service and it was not his problem that we had to wait on them. He then proceeded to tell me that the work was declined and we would never be serviced from them. Really? Business ethics are horrible. DO NOT USE THEM!

Extremely disappointed with their rude attitude! So, I guess their policy is your NOT going to buy to get out of their stores??

I was shopping for a hot tub and when the salesman said "let's go get you financed" I said I have not found anything I like he left me there and went to help someone else and fully disrespected me and my family. I guess if your not going to buy right then and there, they have NO time for you? I do not recommend! I have since found a company who listened to MY needs and I saved a grip of cash buying elsewhere.

Look to other hot tub companies to do business with. Typical salespeople and BIG business sales tactics. BUYER BEWARE!!!

They never just walk away from a customer. Having said that, i also know that they do not offer financing so wherever you were shopping it wasn't there.

WE GOT A BAD HOT TUB DEAL AT PACIFIC HOT TUB SOLUTIONS. The worst part was the owner and manager.

We have never been treated so poorly by a company. We wish we never answered the post on Craigslist by Pacific Hot Tub Solutions. the manager Scott lied to us, We found out latter his name in the hot tub industry is "Slick Scott" from what we found out from other hot tub people he has a long line of bad hot tub deals. The owner Kim has threatened to sue us if we do not stop telling the truth about her company.

We have asked her to leave us alone but she will not stop harassing us. It got so bad we had to have the police issue a no contact order on Kim and scott the owner and manager. BUYER BEWARE ON PACIFIC HOT TUB SOLUTIONS. THEY NEED TO FIND A BETTER WAY TO RUN THEIR COMPANY.
